Elephant Jungle Sanctuary Samui is a rescue and retirement home for elephants formerly used in Thailand's logging and tourism industries, set on forest land in Bophut. Rather than performances or riding, the sanctuary is built around observation and hands-on care — guests feed, walk with, and bathe elephants as they roam and socialize freely. It's part of the wider Elephant Jungle Sanctuary network, one of Thailand's more established ethical elephant tourism operators.
After hotel pickup, guests arrive at the sanctuary office and receive an introduction to the elephants' rescue stories and the sanctuary's welfare programs. You'll change into traditional Karen clothing before preparing food — mashing rice, fruit, and leaves into feeding balls — and heading out to feed the elephants directly. A mud bath and bathing session follows, letting you walk alongside the elephants in a natural, unhurried setting. The visit wraps with a Thai buffet meal and a complimentary set of photos taken throughout your visit.

We had a really nice time at Elephant Jungle Sanctuary Samui. We booked the Feed and Shower package with shared transfer. The staff were friendly and everything was well organized. Feeding the elephants was definitely my favorite part, and the showering was really fun too. The transfer was easy and convenient. Overall, it was a lovely experience and I would definitely recommend it to anyone visiting Koh Samui
